Jiajiang New Year Pictures
Jiajiang New Year paintings are authentic peasant paintings in southwest Sichuan. They are rich and colorful, drawn from folk materials but not bound by real life. They are not limited by time and space, and the content of expression is highly summarized and exaggerated. They are treasures among the traditional cultural products of the Han nationality in Jiajiang. They have very precious historical and cultural value and artistic contribution value. In 2008, they were selected into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection list in my country. Jiajiang New Year paintings are made of powder paper produced locally in Jiajiang, which is processed into embryo paper and printed by woodblock color printing. The watermark is printed in one color per plate, and it is overprinted many times without any hand-painted. Jiajiang New Year paintings often use colors such as hematite red, locust yellow, magenta green, blue indigo, and yellow ochre. The colors used are all developed from plants and minerals. The colors are bright, harmonious and pleasing to the eye, especially yellow and ochre colors are not afraid of wind, rain and sun, and they will not fade for a long time. The carving knife technique is rough, simple, and full of naive beauty. Among them, the "yellow ochre door god" is the most famous, which is resistant to sun and wind and does not change color. The contents of Huangdan door gods include door gods, gods of heaven, kitchen gods, and land gods. In short, every door of a farmer's house has its own door god. Jiajiang hand-painted New Year paintings are elegant in color, close to the charm of ancient literati paintings, and the light blue-gray-green tones are very harmonious with the pastoral style of the Minjiang River Basin in the southwest. This is related to the fact that most hand-painted New Year paintings in the past were appreciated by officials and gentry and customized by wealthy families. The shape and charm of New Year paintings are also different from those in other places. They have a strong Sichuan flavor, are soft and strange, and the faces also have the feeling of Sichuan people. Jiajiang New Year paintings have exaggerated shapes, rich contents, and a wide range of themes. There are themes that reflect folk customs and folk stories, as well as theme paintings full of a strong atmosphere of life, which are of high artistic quality. The characters in the New Year paintings are beautiful, with delicate expressions, full composition, and proper density. The shapes are simple and the lines are rough. They have a strong local flavor and local characteristics, and have high historical and artistic value. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
