Zhougang redwood carving is a traditional art project in the first batch of representative projects of municipal intangible cultural heritage. It is meticulously portrayed, smooth and exquisite, and has a strong sense of life. It makes various practical utensils and crafts such as Buddha statues, figures, flowers and birds, rare birds, coffee tables, screens, etc. It overflows with the charm of mahogany culture, adopts the mortise and tenon craftsmanship of Ming and Qing furniture, and uses exquisite materials. Zhougang mahogany furniture carving has promoted its unique advantages and gathered the skills of hundreds of schools. It has the classical and elegant style of Suzhou-style furniture, the light and elegant style of Cantonese-style furniture, and the royal and elegant appearance of Beijing-style furniture. Its products are finely carved, with a luster like a mirror and a feel like ivory. They are heavy but not clumsy, light and elegant, and more elegant. The furniture and handicrafts carved from mahogany integrate practicality, appreciation, and value preservation, which can be called a unique one in Jinling. After years of hard work and development, Zhougang mahogany carving has become a well-known brand in Nanjing. At present, with traditional skills as the core, boldly creating new products and economical and practical products are accepted by the general public, and have good development prospects.
