On the night of the 13th day of the first lunar month every year, Yunzhu Village in Mangdang Town, Yanping District, is filled with laughter and excitement. The villagers dance with homemade candle bridge lanterns to celebrate the Lantern Festival in a unique way, celebrating the harvest year and wishing for a good year. It is said that Wang You, the 28th grandson of Wang Shenzhi, the King of Fujian, is the great-grandson of Wang Chengdu, the ancestor of Yunzhu. Because of his superb carpentry skills, he was canonized by the emperor in the early Ming Dynasty as one of the "Four Great Craftsmen", and was given a dragon and phoenix ticket and a jade seal. Wang You said to the emperor: "Thank you for your grace. I live in the deep mountains and the land is in danger. I am afraid that I will not be able to live in peace with such a high title." The emperor said: "I will give you four more magic guns." At that time, the number of magic guns was a symbol of status. Only the capital, provincial capital or the hometown of people who were canonized by the emperor could set off four magic guns, and other places could only set off three or less magic guns. When Wang You went to Beijing to be conferred the title, it was the Lantern Festival in Beijing. Every family was decorated with lanterns and lanterns. Dragon lanterns and lion dances were very lively and colorful. Wang You was deeply inspired. After returning home, he created his own style, combining dragon lanterns and palace lanterns into one, changing stillness into movement, and thus made a unique candle bridge lantern. The candle bridge lantern is derived from Tai Chi, and the dance of all things is brilliant. It is composed of more than 100 people, each holding a board. The more than 200-meter candle bridge lantern is both still and moving, with colorful lights and is very ornamental. According to legend, the shape of the mountain in Maodi Village is like a "sleeping dragon", so the original name of the bridge is "Sleeping Dragon Bridge". In the 18th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1753 AD), the bridge was rebuilt. In the dialect, "sleep" and "rui" are homophones, so it is more auspicious to use Ruilong as the name of the bridge, so it was renamed. There is a stone plaque with "Ruilong Bridge" on the arch. Because the giant dragon sleeps here, mosquitoes and spiders dare not disturb it. Therefore, every Lantern Festival, people in Maodi are not allowed to dance with dragon lanterns, for fear of waking up the sleeping dragon and flying away, so as to avoid breaking the Feng Shui and suffering disasters. Therefore, each household sends out a strong man to hold a bench and paste lanterns with rice paper. Each bench is about 2 meters long and has 2 lanterns on it. The lanterns are painted with various auspicious patterns, indicating the wishes of each family for the coming year. There are red candles in each lantern, and holes are drilled at the head and tail of each board to be used as supports to connect with other lantern boards. More than a hundred people are connected with the boards, winding, led by the etiquette team, with gongs and drums roaring and firecrackers blasting. In the night sky, it is dazzling and spectacular. The young men dance and play, and their interest is even stronger. They go from village to village until late at night. Because the candle bridge lantern is easy to dance and learn, it is deeply loved by the masses. Many villages imitate it and it becomes popular. Later, it disappeared for a time due to - or bad years. Since the reform and opening up, people's material living standards have been continuously improving. People are celebrating the harvest in different ways and wishing a better New Year. Candle bridge lanterns, as a special project to enrich people's cultural life, have gradually become popular, among which Yunzhu Village is the most exciting.
