Yue Kiln is the most famous celadon kiln system in ancient my country. Because the kiln site is located in Shangyu, Yuyao, Ningbo and other places in Zhejiang Province, it was under the jurisdiction of Yuezhou in ancient times, so it was named Yue Kiln celadon. Shangyu is the world-recognized birthplace of Yue Kiln celadon, which was formed in the Han Dynasty, flourished in the Three Kingdoms and Western Jin Dynasty, and flourished in the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty. In the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty, it gradually declined. Shangyu is also the central production area of early Yue porcelain, and most of the early Yue Kiln porcelain unearthed in various places was produced here. The production of Shangyu Yue Kiln celadon must go through a complex process: mining, crushing, screening, washing, sedimentation, aging, clay molding, drying, blank repairing, decoration, glazing, firing, etc. The selection of porcelain clay (stone), the production of glaze, molding and firing are the most important links. Shangyu Yue Kiln celadon is made of local porcelain stone or porcelain clay as raw materials, with a gray body and a green-yellow or green glaze. The famous Tang Dynasty poet Lu Guimeng praised the exquisite glaze color of Yue Kiln porcelain in "Secret Color Yue Ware" with the verse "The wind and dew of the ninth autumn open the Yue Kiln, and the green color of thousands of peaks comes. It is like drinking in the middle of the night, and drinking the cup left by Ji Zhongsan." Shangyu Yue Kiln celadon has a wide variety of types, ranging from eating utensils, storage utensils, sanitary utensils, bedding, lighting fixtures to stationery, furnishings, musical instruments, sacrificial utensils, funerary objects, toys, etc. Shangyu Yue Kiln celadon has a long history, wonderful production, and a wide range of functions. It has distinct regional characteristics, high artistic value and scientific research value, and has a very important position in the history of Chinese ceramics.
