Baiyangdian is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction with a water area of 366 square kilometers. It is the largest freshwater lake in the North China Plain. The lake area has beautiful scenery and rich products. The scenery changes with the seasons. The reeds are green, and the lotus, water chestnut, cattail and reed sway in the wind. The lotus is in full bloom, fish jump out of the water, and crabs are fat and delicious. The unique regional characteristics provide natural raw materials for Baiyangdian reed painting, allowing this ancient art to be passed down to this day. Reed painting is one of the characteristic tourist handicrafts of Baiyangdian, and it is known as "one lake water, one lake silver, one inch of reed is one inch of gold". According to historical records, Baiyangdian reed has a long history. As early as the Northern Song Dynasty, "Taiping Huanyu Ji" recorded that "there are cattails, willows, reeds and reeds in the lake". Therefore, the "reed" in the lake area is commonly known as gold bars or iron crops. Baiyangdian reed painting is a traditional handicraft of Anxin County. After careful research and exploration by folk artists, the craftsmanship has become increasingly mature in the 1980s. Baiyangdian reed painting selects special reeds from Baiyangdian and other materials, and is made through a variety of processes such as classification, cutting, flattening, carving, and weaving. The reed paintings produced by Zhainan Tourism Crafts Factory in Anxin County, Hebei Province were identified by the Baoding Municipal Government as "Baoding's No. 1 Tourism Product". "Bingjun", "Yang Bingjun" and "Luyan" have successively obtained trademark registration certificates issued by the Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Their fine products have been awarded the "Gold Award of the First China International Folk Art Expo" and the "Special Honor Award of the 35th Christmas Gift Fair in the Southern United States", which has influenced and promoted the development and innovation of Baiyangdian reed paintings. With the strong support of governments at all levels, Baiyangdian reed paintings have done a lot of rescue, protection, inheritance and promotion work.
