"Looking east to Jieshi, you can see the vast sea." Jieshi Mountain, where Cao Cao, a great hero, left his eternal masterpiece, is located in the north of Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, only 15 kilometers east of the Golden Coast. The main peak of Jieshi Mountain, Xiantaiding, is 695.1 meters above sea level, towering in the center of the ancient city of Changli. From ancient times to the present, there are more than a thousand beautiful and moving legends and stories circulating among the people of Changli around the scenic spots, mountains and rivers, geography, history, culture, religion, folk customs, etc. of Jieshi Mountain. The reason why the stories and legends of Jieshi Mountain are widely welcomed by the general public is that most of its content is based on fighting wits and courage, promoting good and abandoning evil, advocating that justice will eventually triumph over -, praising love that lasts until death, hoping that lovers will eventually get married, advocating wisdom, attaching importance to skills, and full of strong local flavor and legendary color. For example, "Shuangsi Town Huanglong" tells the story of a demon dragon causing trouble and endangering the people. Master Yunhui and his apprentice Zhang Cang helped the mountain people to eliminate the demon and suppress the dragon, and finally won the story. "The Legend of Qin Shihuang Sending Lu Sheng to Seek Immortality" tells the story of Qin Shihuang's excessive incompetence and his desire to use a thousand boys and a thousand girls to refine the immortal elixir. Lu Sheng, a man from Yan, saved the children with his wisdom, and so on. Most of the protagonists here share the same fate with the broad masses of the people, are full of justice in resisting oppression, and are representatives and protectors of the interests of the masses. These stories are generally positive, giving people confidence and strength, and giving people a kind of supreme spiritual satisfaction, reflecting the ideals and pursuits of life of the lower classes. In Changli, these oral folk literatures have been well inherited. Among the 540,000 people, almost all the elderly can tell 20 to 30 stories, and more than 90% of the villagers can tell two or three of them. At the same time, with the development of Jieshi tourism, it has been understood and recognized by more tourists. At the beginning of the 20th century, the relevant departments of Changli County collected and sorted out 63 stories and legends, which were compiled into a book named "Legends and Stories of Jieshi Mountain" and published in two volumes.
