The Legend of Overlord City is a folk literature project in the first batch of representative projects of municipal intangible cultural heritage. The Legend of Overlord City tells the story of Xiang Yu and Han Xin's battle of wits and courage during the Chu-Han Contention. In the end, it was proved that Xiang Yu was brave but not wise, and Han Xin won by wisdom. The story of Overlord City, through the portrayal of the personalities of Xiang Yu and Han Xin, proves that they are heroes in the hearts of the people. The emergence of folk tales is always closely related to the social activities of a certain historical period. The legend reproduces the ideological activities, behaviors and practices of the influential figures during the Chu-Han Contention. The emergence of folk tales is by no means groundless. It is of long-term significance to conduct serious research and protection. The location of Overlord City is now the Yizheng Chemical Fiber Research Institute. After archaeological investigation and excavation in 1982, it was proved to be a building site from the Qin and Han Dynasties. The unearthed cultural relics are now on long-term display in the Yangzhou Museum, becoming one of the important contents of preserving the history and culture of the region.
