Qianbian Dance, also known as Qianchi Dance, is a folk dance in our city. The dance is named after the use of Qianbian as a prop. Qianbian is made by hollowing out a one- or two-foot-long bamboo and filling it with copper coins. It makes a pleasant sound when dancing. Qianbian Dance is performed by dancers singing and dancing, rhythmically dancing the Qianbian through movements such as hand beating, shoulder arching, foot kicking, head beating, leg knocking, elbow bumping, etc., and constantly hitting the limbs, shoulders, back, waist and other parts to make a crisp rhythmic sound. The movements are simple and the rhythm is brisk. In the 1960s and 1970s, there were many Qianbian Dance teams in our city, almost in every village, with many participants. In recent years, with the rise of a large number of new cultural activities and the increasing variety of entertainment activities, this kind of dance team with folk characteristics has rapidly declined and urgently needs attention.
