Jiaokou embroidery has a long history. It has gone through the development process from folk embroidery to tribute to the court, from individual workshops to large-scale intensive development. It incorporates the essence of traditional embroidery techniques. After a long period of practical accumulation, it has formed a kind of arts and crafts with elegant composition, fine embroidery, diverse needlework and rich colors. It is of great significance to the study of local human development, religious beliefs, folk etiquette, local customs and social and economic development. The embroidery process is roughly divided into design, draft, stretching, stretching, matching, embroidery, mounting and other processes. The main materials of embroidery thread are flower money and gold and silver thread. Flower thread is made of high-quality silk through more than ten processes such as twisting, merging, refining and dyeing, and finishing. The original flower thread can be split into twelve or twenty-four parts, but it can be as high-quality as silk without breaking or linting. Traditional knitting techniques include flat stitch, oblique stitch, scattered stitch, punch stitch, button embroidery, gold-plated stitch, sieve stitch, mixed stitch (dense mixed, sparse mixed), five-color set, flash edge stitch, rolling stitch, and piercing stitch. The base fabric and base material are divided into four categories: plant fiber fabric, animal fiber fabric, chemical fiber fabric, and cross-stitch fabric. Embroidery needles are divided into embroidery needles, wool needles, cross-stitch needles, and beading needles. Other related tools include scissors, embroidery frames, embroidery frames, and mountings. Representative works include "Flowers Bloom in Spring", "Foraging in the Autumn Garden", "Red Plum Heralds Spring", "Flowers Bloom and Wealth Comes", "Success at the First Attempt", "Long History", "Cornucopia", "Rising Sun", "Pine and Crane Prolong Life", and "Wealth and Fortune". The elegant and delicate needlework of Jiaokou embroidery embodies the wisdom and experience of generations of Jiaokou embroiderers, especially the clever use of various needlework and the artistic treatment of natural color gradients. The embroidered works, whether figures, animals, landscapes, flowers and plants, all maintain and continue the traditional ancient method of "embroidery thread overlapping without missing stitches, matching color threads to make the image vivid", representing the artistic characteristics of the Yellow River Basin embroidery "flat, bright, neat, uniform, harmonious, smooth, fine and dense", and have distinct and unique craft value.
