Van Nellefabriek

The Van Nellefabriek factory was designed and built in the 1920s, on the banks of a canal in the industrial area of Spaanse Polder, northwest of Rotterdam. One of the landmarks of 20th century industrial architecture, the factory consists of a factory complex with a facade made mainly of steel and glass, making extensive use of curtain wall principles. It was conceived as an "ideal factory", open to the outside world, with internal work spaces that evolved according to needs and took advantage of daylight to provide comfortable working conditions. It embodied a new type of factory, becoming a symbol of modernist and functionalist culture in the interwar period, and a testament to the Netherlands' long commercial and industrial history in the import and processing of food from tropical countries and their industrial processing for sale in Europe.

Outer Jinshui Bridge

The location of the Waijinshui Bridge is in strict correspondence with the five arch gates of the Tiananmen Tower and the south gate of the Imperial Ancestral Temple and the Altar of Land and Grain. The layout of the bridge, the width of the bridge deck, the form of the capital and the decorative details all reflect the principle of "selecting the middle". As the leading area to the imperial city of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Waijinshui Bridge was the only way from the imperial city to the southern suburbs for sacrifice in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is also the ceremonial space for major national celebrations today, and it has always assumed an important ceremonial function. The Waijinshui Bridge is located on the Waijinshui River on the south side of Tiananmen. The bridge body is located opposite to the arch gate of the tower, and the distance between the bridges is basically the same. They are symmetrically distributed along the central axis of Beijing. The Waijinshui Bridge is shaped like a jade belt, and it is combined with the Tiananmen Tower to form a symbolic ceremonial space and form. The five bridges of the Waijinshui Bridge are basically the same in shape. They are all three-arch arch-style white marble bridges. The plane is in the shape of a "工" character with a narrow middle and wide ends. The shape is unique, but the scale and decorative details are different. The architectural level decreases from the middle to the sides. The Outer Golden Water Bridge corresponds to the Inner Golden Water Bridge in front of the Taihe Gate of the Forbidden City. It has played an important ceremonial function since the Ming Dynasty. The bridge in the middle is called the Imperial Road Bridge, which was used exclusively by the emperor during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The left and right sides of the Imperial Road Bridge are the Prince Bridges, which are used by the princes of the imperial clan. The two ends are the Grade Bridges, which are used by civil and military officials above the third grade. The bridges corresponding to the Imperial Ancestral Temple and the Altar of Land and Grain are called the Gongsheng Bridges. Today, the Outer Golden Water Bridge is still the main passage connecting the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. The Outer Golden Water Bridge was first built in the 15th year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1417). There were only three bridges at first. After the reconstruction in the first year of the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty (1465), the number increased to seven. The existing bridge was rebuilt in the 29th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1690).

The botanical garden is not restricted by seasons and weather. It has a constant temperature throughout the year, with a temperature above 20℃ and a humidity above 70%. The garden is always full of spring colors, birds singing and flowers blooming throughout the year, and the scenery of the south is refreshing. Visitors strolling in the garden can't help but sigh, "If I had known there was such a garden earlier, why would I have gone to the south of the Yangtze River?" Some foreign friends even suggested that they must visit the Tropical Botanical Garden to enjoy the scenery of the northern land and the southern country when they come to Tianjin. Tianjin Tropical Botanical Garden is divided into four functional areas, namely: Service Hall, Flower Hall, Science and Education Hall, and Rainforest Hall. In the center of the entrance to the Flower Hall, the scene of the great leader Chairman Mao Zedong personally coming here to inspect agricultural production on September 19, 1959 and having a cordial conversation with farmers in the fields is vividly reproduced. Behind the statue, the colorful musical fountain sprinkles thousands of rays of light. Thousands of seasonal flowers of all seasons are colorful and gorgeous; Canary date palms imported from Australia stand among the flowers; stalactites, Lingbi, Taihu Xuanyin, and elegant stone scenery complement each other. In the desert area, you can fully appreciate the unique charm of desert plants in the fully enclosed dry and hot climate environment created by artificial means. The beautiful tropical landscape of the Tropical Botanical Garden not only attracts tourists from all directions, but also attracts the attention of many newlyweds. Nowadays, nearly a hundred couples go to the garden to take wedding photos every day, and regard the beautiful scenery of the botanical garden as a lifetime treasure. There are also many newlyweds who go to the botanical garden to shoot outdoor scenes on the wedding day, which also adds a festive scenery to the botanical garden. The Tropical Botanical Garden has now become the first choice for green ecological activities such as wedding ceremonies, friends gatherings, and family outings. The completion and opening of the Zhongbei Canal Ice Sculpture Park in 2009 formed a strong contrast between cold and heat with the Tropical Botanical Garden, allowing tourists to experience the ultimate excitement of "traveling all over the north and south in one day, and experiencing cold and warm in one trip". In 2010, the Zhongbei Town Government once again spent a huge amount of money to build a 4D cinema in the park.
