Great Hall of the People

The Great Hall of the People is the meeting place of the National People's Congress of China and the office place of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. It was completed in 1959 and is an important place for the Party, the State and various people's organizations of the People's Republic of China to hold political activities. The Great Hall of the People is located on the west side of Tiananmen Square and has a symmetrical shape. The facade adopts a classical vertical three-section design, and the base, colonnade and eaves are decorated with traditional Chinese architectural patterns. On the base are 12 red marble column bases and light gray marble column columns. According to the traditional Chinese architectural design method, the distance between the columns in the middle is slightly wider, and the distance between the columns on both sides decreases successively. The entrances around are composed of 134 colonnades with a diameter of 2 meters. There are 5 meters high and 83 meters wide granite steps in front of the main entrance. The Great Hall of the People is a rectangle that is long from north to south, which sets off the broad and far-reaching effect of the central axis of Beijing.

North China Military Region Martyrs Cemetery

The Martyrs Cemetery of the North China Military Region is a department-level institution directly under the Civil Affairs Department of Hebei Province. It is located at No. 343, Zhongshan West Road, Shijiazhuang City, the provincial capital, and covers an area of 210,000 square meters. It is one of the famous martyrs cemeteries in my country that was built early, on a large scale, and with high architectural specifications. It was built in the autumn of 1948 at the suggestion of Commander-in-Chief Zhu De to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who died in North China. Construction began in March 1950 and was completed and opened to the public on August 1, 1954. It is the first batch of key protection units of martyr memorial buildings in the country named by the State Council, a national patriotism education demonstration base named by the Central Propaganda Department, one of the top 100 red tourism classic scenic spots in the country named by the Central Propaganda Department and other seven ministries and commissions, and a national patriotism education base for primary and secondary schools named by six ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. It is a national national defense education demonstration base. Internationalist fighters Bethune, Dr. Ke Dihua, the commander of the Hui Muslim Detachment - "national hero" Ma Benzhai, and the "mother of the soldiers" Rong Guanxiu and other famous martyrs are buried or placed here. Over the years, the construction and development of the North China Military Region Martyrs Cemetery has always received the care and support of party committees and governments at all levels. Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Deng Xiaoping and other older generation proletarian revolutionaries have successively written inscriptions for the cemetery, expressing their high hopes and entrustments.

Wang's Former Residence

On July 31, 2016, at an Agricultural Bank in the Wudadao scenic area in Tianjin, the Wang family's former residence was the former residence of Liu Qingshan and Zhang Zishan, two great "celebrities" in the history of New China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu Qingshan and Zhang Zishan became criminals because of their arrogance, corruption and degeneration. In November 1951, the Third Representative Conference of the Communist Party of China in Hebei Province exposed the crimes of Liu and Zhang. On December 4 of the same year, the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China made a resolution, approved by the Central North China Bureau, to expel Liu Qingshan and Zhang Zishan from the party. On February 10, 1952, the Hebei Provincial People's Government held a public trial meeting, and then the Hebei Provincial People's Court reported to the Supreme People's Court for approval and sentenced Liu Qingshan and Zhang Zishan to death.

Xigu Park

Xigu Park was established in 1958. It is located in the northwest of Tianjin City, overlooking Ziya River in the south, connected to Taohua Dike in the north, adjacent to Beiyun River in the east, and close to Tianjin West Railway Station, a modern railway transportation hub, in the southwest. It covers a total area of 320,000 square meters (about 480 acres) and is the only large park in the northwest of Tianjin's central urban area. It leads the city's major parks with its dual characteristics of "historical culture" and "natural ecology".
