Megalithic Temples of Malta
There are seven megalithic temples on the islands of Malta and Gozo, each the result of an independent development. The two Ggantija temples on Gozo are famous for their monumental Bronze Age architecture. On the island of Malta, the Hagar Qim, Mnajdra and Tarxien temples are unique architectural masterpieces, considering the limited resources available to their builders. The Ta'Hagrat and Skorba complexes show how the Maltese temple-building tradition was passed down.
Archipiélago de Revillagigedo
Located in the eastern Pacific Ocean, this archipelago consists of four remote islands and their surrounding waters: San Benedicto, Socorro, Roca Partida and Clarion. The archipelago is part of an underwater mountain range, with the four islands representing volcanic peaks above sea level. The islands provide important habitat for a variety of wildlife, especially seabirds. The surrounding waters are home to large pelagic species such as manta rays, whales, dolphins and sharks.
Garajonay National Park
Laurel forests cover about 70% of the park, which is located in the central part of La Gomera, in the Canary Islands. The presence of springs and numerous streams ensures a dense vegetation, similar to that of the Tertiary period, which has largely disappeared in southern Europe due to climate change.
