Buddhist Ruins of Takht-i-Bahi and Neighbouring City Remains at Sahr-i-Bahlol
The Buddhist monastery complex of Takht-e-Bahi (Seat of Origin) was built in the early 1st century AD. As it is located on top of a high mountain, it has survived many invasions and is still well preserved. Nearby are the ruins of Sahr-i-Bahlol, a small fortified city built in the same period.
Buddhist Monuments in the Horyu-ji Area
There are about 48 Buddhist monuments in the Horyu-ji area of Nara Prefecture. Several of these were built in the late 7th or early 8th century, making them some of the oldest surviving wooden structures in the world. These masterpieces of wooden architecture are important not only for art history, as they show how Chinese Buddhist architecture and layout were adapted to Japanese culture, but also for religious history, as they were built at the same time that Buddhism was introduced to Japan from China via the Korean Peninsula.
Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi
Located on a hill overlooking the plains, about 40 km from Bhopal, the ruins of Sanchi consist of a group of Buddhist monuments (monumental columns, palaces, temples and monasteries), all in varying states of conservation, most of which date back to the 2nd and 1st centuries BC. It is the oldest surviving Buddhist sanctuary and was a major Buddhist centre in India until the 12th century AD.

Ji'nan Revolutionary Memorial Hall
The Ji'nan Revolutionary Memorial Hall is located in Ren County, Hebei Province, only 20 kilometers away from the urban area of Xingtai. It covers a total area of 800 acres and is divided into three major scenic areas. It is not only a base for patriotic education for young people, but also an important symbol of the rich red cultural heritage of Ren County, an old revolutionary base.
