The legend of Zhangshu Gezao Mountain (the fourth batch of provincial level) Gezao Mountain is a famous mountain that integrates Taoist culture and Chinese medicine history and culture. Ninety-nine peaks, stretching over 200 miles, have been as famous as Mount Lu and Mount Yushe in history, known as the "Three Famous Mountains in Jiangnan", and listed as one of the "Ten Scenes of Yuzhang". Gezao Mountain has a long history, many cultural relics, and many legends. It is an important treasure house of literature and art. Since Zhang Daoling and Ge Xuan practiced Taoism and made elixirs here in the Eastern Han Dynasty, especially the founding of Ge Xuan's Taoist Lingbao School, Gezao Mountain has become more and more popular and famous, becoming one of the birthplaces of Taoism, standing on equal footing with Guixi Longhu Mountain and Nanjing Mao Mountain, known as the "House of Immortals". During the Yifeng period of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty (676-678), the emperor bestowed Gezao Mountain as the "33rd Blessed Land in the World". It is named because of its "shape like a pavilion and color like soap". It is commonly known as Gezao Mountain, also known as Geling. The peaks, rocks, plateaus and stones in the mountain are strange and bizarre, and the streams, streams, springs and pools are deep and cold. Temples, halls, terraces and pavilions can be seen everywhere. Myths and legends are widely spread. In the seventh year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (202), the famous Taoist Ge Xuan realized Taoism and practiced Taoism here. Ge Xuan was not only the ancestor of the Lingbao Taoist school, but also a Moji person in the Zhangshu medicine industry. Gezao Mountain is the birthplace of Zhangshu medicine industry and even the entire Jiangnan medicine industry, and therefore it has become the "ancestor mountain" of Zhangshu medicine gang. After Ge Xuan, his disciples continued to preach and make elixirs, plant medicine and practice medicine in Gezao Mountain. Among them, Ge Hong made the greatest contribution. In the history of Taoism in China, the two Ges were called "Ge Family Taoism". Gezao Mountain also became a "holy land" for Taoists because of the two Ges, and it is the ancestral home of the Taoist "Lingbao School". The legends of Gezhao Mountain include many fields of folk literature, such as legends of gods, legends of figures, legends of scenic spots, legends of animals and plants, legends of special products, legends of customs, etc. Important folk legends include legends of Ge Xuanxian, traces of famous people, legends of beautiful mountains and rivers, and legends of local customs and special products. These legends have been interpreted for thousands of years and have had an important impact on the psychology of the people, shaping the hardworking, kind, and enterprising character of today's Zhangshu people. In order to better protect this excellent cultural heritage, we apply to list the project as a provincial intangible cultural heritage protection project.
