The Zifang Mountain Temple Fair began in the Ming Dynasty, developed and flourished in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. After the founding of New China, the temple fair activities continued to be carried out normally, stopped during the Cultural Revolution, and gradually resumed after the end of the Cultural Revolution. After the restoration of religious policies in 1986, the temple fair gradually developed with the spontaneous participation of the people. The Zifangshan Temple Fair is held at Zifangshan in Xuzhou. The fair lasts for three days, with the main meeting on May 19th of the lunar calendar. The Zifang Mountain Temple Fair is a "custom painting" of folk customs from generation to generation, and plays an important role in witnessing the excellent cultural traditions of the nation.
