The connotation of folk songs in western Beijing is very rich, and its content mainly includes two parts: children's songs and folk songs. Children's songs are divided into two categories: children's songs and adults' songs. Folk songs cover all aspects of society, and can be specifically divided into labor songs, current affairs songs, life songs, folk songs, humorous songs, historical and traditional songs, ritual songs, love songs, etc. Due to the specific geographical environment and historical background of western Beijing, industrial folk songs also account for a certain proportion of folk songs in western Beijing. Since ancient times, the western part of Beijing has been a place where many ethnic groups live together, which has made the folk songs in western Beijing multi-ethnic, multi-faith and multi-religious. The development of coal mining and steel industries in western Beijing also made the early folk songs of western Beijing bear the era mark of industrial production. In particular, the revolutionary struggle folk songs that appeared during the revolutionary construction period reflected the people's love for the Communist Party of China, Chairman Mao and the new China. The folk songs of western Beijing have certain historical and humanistic values. They are a true witness to social development and a vivid teaching material for inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
