Legend of Baodugu

Shandong
🎧  Listen to Introduction

long time ago, there lived an old man named Wang at the foot of Junshan Mountain. He was simple and hardworking. He cultivated a few acres of barren mountain land. Year after year, he worked day and night, sweating and bending his back. But every harvest season, the government sent some tiger-like runners to collect rent and taxes. They looted the little food that Wang's family needed to sustain their lives. Wang was furious and had no idea what to do. In order to escape the exploitation of the government and stay away from the harassment of the world, he decided to hide on the high and far Junshan Mountain to cultivate. The top of the mountain was dozens of acres, and the soil was more than a foot thick, like heaven. But the mountain was steep and difficult to climb. The old man's oxen could not go up. He had to carry a newborn calf to the top of the mountain, built a thatched hut, and cleared the fields. He spent the rest of his life with the bright moon, the breeze, the pine waves and the spring water. When he was hungry, he collected pine seeds and poria to fill his stomach, and when he was thirsty, he drank a few sips of sweet mountain spring water. Over time, he gradually became clear-headed and his spirit was light. After being enlightened by an immortal, he actually became an immortal. A few years later, someone saw the old man Baodu leading a calf to a mountain pavilion to sell wine. He happened to meet a beautiful woman, and the two got married and left. Later, someone saw them selling fresh peaches in the market in the cold winter. The name of Baodu Mountain became widely known among the people. There is a poem to prove it: Rumor has it that there are good fields on the mountain, hoeing clouds and plowing rain, the sun and the moon are tilted. How can I get a long ladder to hold the calf, and collect rent without the official to the horizon. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
