Gannan Tibetan Folk Songs
Gannan Tibetan folk songs refer to folk songs that were formed and spread in the Gannan Tibetan area of Gansu Province. Gannan folk songs are full of emotion, with a wide range of themes, rich content and diverse forms. The tunes are generally unchanged, and the original Tibetan folk songs have no musical accompaniment. The lyrics of Tibetan folk songs are both old and new, and they are often sung with new lyrics in the old tunes. The lyrics are very mythical. In 2008, Gannan Tibetan folk songs were selected into the second batch of China's national intangible cultural heritage list. Gannan is located at the eastern end of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It has been the main channel from the mainland to the Tibetan area since ancient times. It is an important bridge for economic and cultural exchanges between the mainland and the Tibetan area, and has become the political and cultural center of the Anduo Tibetan area. The unique geographical location and diverse natural environment have formed the rich and colorful ethnic folk culture and humanistic landscape of Gannan Prefecture. Some experts believe that folk songs, as oral literature, have been widely circulated among the masses long before the emergence of Tibetan characters. After the emergence and use of Tibetan, it not only promoted the progress of Tibetan society and cultural development, but also enriched and developed folk songs by being fully adopted by literati. From the discovered Tibetan documents, it can be seen that folk songs were often used as a way of expression in the language communication of the ancient Tibetan people. The lyrics and music of Gannan Tibetan folk songs were not passed down in writing before. They were all memorized and passed on orally by folk artists and passed on to later generations through singing. In the long river of historical development, through melting, processing and innovation, it gradually formed its unique folk art and became a wonderful flower in the art of Gannan Tibetan folk songs. In 2014, the "Gannan Tibetan Folk Song Collection" was published, aiming to preserve Tibetan folk songs in writing.
