Yuebei is located in Baiguo Town, Hengshan County, Hunan Province, and borders Xiangtan, Shuangfeng, Hengyang, and Nanyue. Yuebei people are enthusiastic, open-minded, and love culture and art. The famous "Yuebei Folk Songs" come from here. Whether in the fields or in the streets, whether they are old men or young children, they all like to sing and sing out their thousands of emotions and feelings in their hearts. According to historical records, "Yuebei Folk Songs" originated in the eighth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1375 AD), and it has a history of more than 630 years. It is an important part of Hunan culture and an artistic treasure of Chinese national culture. It has strong regional characteristics and cultural expression. "Yuebei Folk Songs" are spread along the banks of the Juanjiang River in Hengshan Yuebei and the surrounding areas. They are easy to understand and have a strong sense of life. Their high-pitched and beautiful music melodies and simple and humorous singing skills fully reflect the wisdom, humor and boldness of folk song artists. The lyrics have the following characteristics: they are composed according to the situation, easy to understand, humorous, and full of life. The singing forms include solo, duet, chorus, etc. The singing is all in Yuebei local dialect, which is mellow, sweet, unique, and deeply loved by the people. Yuebei folk songs can be roughly divided into four categories: 1. Love songs, which are characterized by lingering and graceful, sincere and heartfelt; 2. Labor songs, which are characterized by high-pitched and exciting, inspiring; 3. Festive songs, which are characterized by warm and joyful, beautiful melodies; 4. Others, which are characterized by humor, humor, humor and simplicity. Its tonal structure has the following characteristics: 1. The natural pronunciation of Yuebei dialect, the yinping, yangping, shangsheng, and qusheng are the biggest characteristics of the tones of Yuebei folk songs; 2. The main tones are mostly "6" and "2", and the typical national Yu and Shang modes are adopted; 3. The rhythm forms include fast, slow, and free, and the contrast of the words "Yiyo Yiyo" and "Yowei" in its dialect makes the expression more abundant. The melody of "Yuebei Mountain Songs" is unique, high-pitched and melodious, with high-pitched lip-synching and free expression. Each note flows with primitive charm like the sound of a spring in a valley. There is no majestic orchestral accompaniment, nor the sonorous drum rhythm. The mountain song goes straight to the theme from the beginning; high-pitched, beautiful, free and pure, such as: "I open my throat to sing a mountain song, and thousands of mountains respond to thousands of mountains in harmony..." It truly reflects the three-dimensional effect of thousands of mountains responding to thousands of mountains in harmony, and makes people feel as if they are in the secluded mountains and valleys, beside the springs, there are lush forests and bamboos, there is gurgling water, which makes people feel relaxed and happy, forgetting their worries. In 2006, Yuebei folk songs received great attention from the county party committee, the county people's government and the leaders in charge.
