Therefore, Jianshui has a tradition of advocating Confucianism in history, and is a famous county of poetry and books and a country of etiquette. In order to solemnly commemorate Confucius, the founder of the Confucian school, Jianshui County has designated September 28 of each year as the "China Red River Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival" since 2005, with the theme of "Sacrificing to the Master of China for All Ages and Showing the Thousand-Year Civilization of Jianshui". During the event, a grand opening ceremony and a traditional Confucius worship ceremony were held. In 2005, the Confucius Cultural Festival in Jianshui became one of the five points of "Chinese around the world worship Confucius" broadcast live by CCTV. Its Confucius worship activities with ethnic characteristics attracted wide attention at home and abroad. In 2006, the Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival and the 1200th anniversary of the founding of Jianshui were held at the same time. Activities such as "CCTV Entering Jianshui, Confucius Worship Celebration, Jianshui Top Ten Historical and Cultural Celebrities, and Jianshui Top Ten Historical Events Selection" were held, and Xinhuanet broadcasted the entire process live. During the third Confucius Cultural Festival in 2007, Jianshui held the "Enter Jianshui, Get Close to Confucius" Confucianism Forum, and the famous scholar Mr. Kong Qingdong entered the Jianshui Confucian Temple to give lectures, which attracted much attention from media at all levels. In 2008, the fourth "China Red River Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival" was held. In 2009, the fifth "China Red River Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival" was held. Since the Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival was held, its grand scale, traditional Confucius worship ceremony with ethnic characteristics and other series of cultural activities and commercial activities have promoted the development of cultural tourism in the county and enhanced the popularity of Jianshui county culture. The Jianshui Confucius Cultural Festival, which is guided by "commemorating the sages and spreading civilization", has become a well-known "cultural business card" of Jianshui.
