Jinhua in central Zhejiang Province was formerly known as "Wuzhou". Its traditional houses are mainly distributed in Dongyang, Lanxi, Wuyi, Pujiang and other places. These historic buildings are cleverly laid out and beautifully decorated, fully demonstrating the superb construction skills. There are more than 200 Ming and Qing Dynasty houses in Zhuge Village, Lanxi City, Zhejiang Province. The earliest local building was built in the tenth year of Zhizheng in the Yuan Dynasty (1350). The earliest building in Yuyuan Village, Wuyi County was built in the Southern Song Dynasty, and there are 130 Ming and Qing Dynasty houses. Lu's House in Dongyang is a large-scale residential building complex in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a construction area of about 17,000 square meters. Among them, the famous Suyong Hall was built during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. Zhengzhai Town in Pujiang County is an ancient town where the Zheng family lived. It was built in the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty and covers an area of about 5,000 square meters. Wuzhou's traditional houses focus on perfect integration with the surrounding natural environment in architectural design. Most of the houses are built by the mountains and rivers, facing the sun and facing the shade, with undulating hills and rivers, and winding streams and rivers flowing in between. Some of the buildings are in the traditional left-right symmetrical form, with alleys and lanes running vertically and horizontally; some are in the Bagua style, radiating from the center to the outside. The architectural forms include ancestral halls, screen walls, memorial archways, stone bridges, halls, shops, libraries, stages, granaries, dining rooms, bedrooms, etc., which are fully functional and comfortable and convenient to live in. The ancestral hall is the core building of traditional folk houses in central Zhejiang. It is not only a place to worship ancestors, but also a place for clansmen to gather and discuss matters and for elders to teach the younger generations. The architectural pattern fully reflects the profound influence of Confucian ethical culture. The decorative arts of traditional folk houses in Wuzhou are diverse, including stone carvings, wood carvings, brick carvings, and painted paintings. Wood carvings are widely used in beams, brackets, brackets, gates, and window lattices. Dongyang Lu's house is the most typical in this regard. Village houses generally adopt the form of blue bricks, gray walls, and (roof) horse head walls. Some houses, such as Lu's house, have stone lions facing each other at the door, which gives people a sense of majesty and solemnity. Among the traditional residential buildings in Wuzhou, Lanxi Zhuge Village, Dongyang Luzhai, and Pujiang Zhengshi Town are all national key cultural relics protection units, and Wuyi Yuyuan Village is a historical and cultural protection area of Zhejiang Province. The Zhengyimen Ancient Buildings Complex is located in Zhengzhai Ancient Town, Pujiang County, Zhejiang Province. In the early Northern Song Dynasty, the ancestors of the Zheng family in Xinzheng, Henan, came to the Bailin River in Pujiang and settled there, with a history of more than 900 years. The Zheng family in Pujiang has lived together for a long time, and has adhered to Confucian behavioral norms in the process of development. It reached its peak in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. It was repeatedly honored by the court as "Zhengyimen", "Xiaoyi Family", "Nine Generations of Cohabitation", etc., becoming a model of Confucian governance at that time. The Zheng Clan Ancestral Hall in the Zhengyimen Ancient Building Complex covers an area of more than 5,000 square meters, with a total of two lanes and 64 rooms, including porches, teacher-thrift halls, atriums, orderly halls, worship halls, listening halls, dining halls, bedrooms, granaries, kitchens, prime minister's rooms and wing rooms, etc. It is large in scale and fully functional. There are 9 ancient cypresses from the Yuan Dynasty in the courtyards in front and behind the Shijian Hall. They are thick enough to be embraced, with branches like twisted trees. They are said to be planted by Song Lian, a famous writer in Pujiang during the Ming Dynasty. In the Shijian Hall, there are plaques and couplets issued by the court and inscribed by famous officials of all dynasties, including the plaques of "filial piety" and "the first family in Jiangnan" awarded during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. There are many inscriptions on the four walls, including the "Bai Linxi" inscription written by Tuotuo, a minister of the Yuan Dynasty. The Zheng Clan Ancestral Hall is not only a place for the Zheng family to hold ceremonies, worship ancestors, teach descendants, and discuss matters, but also a place for clan members to listen to teachings and eat. It plays an important role in the history of the Zheng family in Pujiang. The Zhengyimen ancient building complex integrates ancient architectural concepts, traditional folk customs and Confucian culture in its construction ideas. The cultural relics and historical sites preserved in it have high cultural relic value. At the same time, it also reflects the historical situation of Chinese feudal society governing families with Confucian etiquette. It has high research value in Chinese ethical history, social history, clan history and other aspects. (No pictures available, please provide them.) (No pictures available, please provide them.)
