In Dacheng County, many legends about the Generals of the Yang Family are still circulating. After many investigations, it has been proved that Dacheng is indeed the place where Yang Yanzhao once lived and fought. The folk legends of Yang Liulang in Dacheng County are rich and colorful. They are different from the historical novel version of "Generals of the Yang Family", but they are also consistent with each other and have distinct local characteristics. The stories of Yang Liulang in Dacheng can be divided into love legends and legends of heroic resistance against the Liao Dynasty. Legend has it that Dawangdu Village in Dacheng County is the hometown of the big knife Wang Huainu. She and Yang Liulang had a childhood marriage earlier. When she grew up, Yang Liulang thought she was ugly, so he married the beautiful Princess Chai. There are more than 20 villages in Dacheng whose names are related to the Yang Family Generals. For example, Wang Huainu once went to Yang Liulang to propose marriage, but Yang Liulang refused because of her ugliness. They then challenged each other to a martial arts contest, and Liulang was defeated. Wang Huainu asked Liulang whether he would accept her, but he still refused. Wang Huainu said angrily, "You are such a hard-to-marry husband", so the village was named Nanzhaofu, and later it was played as Nanzhaofu based on its pronunciation; Wang Huainu chased her husband all the way and cursed him along the way, and later someone settled down there and named them "Ma Liulang", which was later changed to "Ma Liulang"; Yang Liulang hurriedly took the horse to the ferry to cross the river to get rid of the pursuer, and thus the village was named "Yaomadu"; after crossing the river, he ran all the way east, and Wang Huainu chased him and cursed, "You unfaithful man, do you love me or not?" "Slave" was how women in ancient times called themselves, so the village was named "Ainu", which was later changed to "Ainong". It is also said that during the Northern Song Dynasty, Yang Liulang fought against Liao soldiers. One night, he took advantage of the fact that the Liao soldiers were exhausted and led his troops to attack the Liao camp at night. The Liao soldiers had no time to prepare saddles and fled in panic. After the battle, many saddles were left behind. At that time, people named the village "Guang'an" to commemorate Yang Liulang's military exploits. Later, it was changed to "Guang'an" for peace and good luck. In the early years of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, some people moved to the south of this village and built a village named Xiao Guang'an. Guang'an Village was called Da Guang'an. The legend of the Yang Family Generals reflects the good wishes, demands and ideals of the working people, and expresses the simple thoughts and feelings of the local people. The legends are easy to understand, the articles are catchy, and easy to be accepted by people. It has a certain representativeness and influence, contains a large number of humanistic allusions and historical materials, and reflects the unique regional cultural characteristics.
