Eryuan is rich in geothermal resources and is known as the "hometown of hot springs" and the county seat is known as the "hot spring city". In addition to underground hot water everywhere in the county seat, hot water ponds can be found in Sanying Huoyan Mountain, Niujie, Liantie, Xiashankou, Yousuo Wenshui, and Tuanjie Pitou Village. There are different bathing festivals in various parts of Eryuan. From the beginning of the twelfth lunar month to around the beginning of spring, working women of all ethnic groups in Dengchuan and Yousuo will go to the nearest bathing pond in groups to take a good bath and spend the New Year cleanly. In Niujie and Sanying, there is a natural open-air hot spring on the side of the road, which is called "Qufengtang" or "Laizitang" by the people. The spring water is rich in minerals and trace elements. Bathing in the spring has the therapeutic effects of dispelling wind and dampness, warming the palace and nourishing yin. Every year when the spring is warm and the flowers are blooming, local and nearby Bai women will go to the "Qufengtang" to take a bath to wash away the fatigue of the year and keep their body and mind healthy. The Jiuqitai Hot Spring in the county seat is famous far and wide. Boiling hot water can be seen everywhere in Jiuqitai Village. The hot water from the dense springs like honeycombs can cook eggs. The whole village, fields, and trees are covered with mist and white fog. The "Langqiong County Chronicle" of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty states: "Qihuang is used to replenish the true fire of the gate of life, and to treat spleen and stomach deficiency and cold, chest and abdominal distension, long-term cold diarrhea, yin fistula, waist and knee cold numbness, stroke, asthma, and women's uterus deficiency and cold infertility, ten years without children and other symptoms. Long-term use will make the body light and not old, and it is a natural treasure." Jiuqitai Hot Spring is called "Qihuang Hot Spring" and can be bathed in all seasons. Every year around the "Beginning of Summer" festival is the bathing festival of Jiuqitai. Working women of all ethnic groups from all directions come here to take a Qihuang bath. The women who have bathed are all rosy and radiant. Afterwards, they go to the Ci Bi Lake in groups of three or five to have a picnic, row a boat, and play for a day. He Bangjian, a Bai poet in the Qing Dynasty, wrote: "The hot spring is as blue as Huaqing, and tourists come to bathe in droves. Sometimes people gather to sing and chant, and enjoy the spring with flowers and willows." Nowadays, large hot spring swimming pools have been built in Jiuqitai Hot Spring Hotel and Xiashankou Resort to provide convenience for tourists. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
