Hakka Winter Solstice Ancestor Worship (Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Project) Hakka people are very fond of ancestor worship. Most of them have built ancestral temples to commemorate their ancestors, especially the first ancestor. They worship them in spring and autumn every year. Every winter solstice, the whole clan gathers in the ancestral temple to worship their ancestors, trace their origins, and discuss clan rules. Hakka ancestor worship was introduced into Tonggu as an alien culture, and formed a unique ancestor worship culture in the integration with local culture and surrounding Hakka culture. When worshiping their ancestors, the Hakka people in Tonggu have to worship eight places, which refer to the drum and music place, the sacrifice place, the hair and blood place, the wine jar place, the burning place, the washing place (the washing place), the incense table place, and the food table place. All the items for Hakka people to worship their ancestors are included in the eight places.
