Kinh people playing sand kicking
Guangxi
🎧 Listen to Introduction
Kicking sand is a way for young men and women of the Jing ethnic group to express their feelings. Jing Island is an alluvial island, which is often called a sand island. People cannot live without sand in their lives. When a young man and a girl go out to sea or catch fish together, the young man likes the girl but doesn't know if she loves him back, so he deliberately kicks sand on the girl's heels to test her. If the girl doesn't like the young man, she pretends not to know and doesn't express anything. If she likes the young man, she kicks sand back. The more sand is kicked, the more passionate the love is. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
