Phong Nha-Kxe1xbaxbb Bxc3xa0ng (Vietnamese: Vxc6xb0xe1xbbx9dn quxe1xbbx91c gia Phong Nha-Kxe1xbaxbb Bxc3xa0ng) is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Bxe1xbbx91 Trxe1xbaxa1ch and Minh Hxc3xb3a districts of central Quxe1xbaxa3ng Bxc3xacnh Province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam, about 500xc2xa0km south of Hanoi.
Phong Nha-Kxe1xbaxbb Bxc3xa0ng National Park was first nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.
At the meeting in July 1999, Evaluation Bureau concluded that Phong Nha Nature Reserve would meet with criteria I and IV as a world heritage nominee on the condition that this nature reserve was expanded to include the larger Phong Nha-Kxe1xbaxbb Bxc3xa0ng parkland with an associated fully integrated management structure.
The evaluation bureau concluded that the nominated area on its own is not considered to meet World Heritage criteria.
Phong Nhaxe2x80x93Kxe1xbaxbb Bxc3xa0ng is part of a tourism promotion campaign, "Middle World Heritage Road", which includes the ancient capital of Huxe1xbaxbf, the Champa relics of Mxe1xbbxb9 Sxc6xa1n, the city of Hxe1xbbx99i An, Nhxc3xa3 nhxe1xbaxa1c and the Space of gong culture in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
The National Park is effectively protected by a number of national laws and government decisions, which prohibit any action inside or outside the boundaries of the National Park or a World Heritage property that may have a significant impact on the heritage values.
