The Comoxc3xa9 National Park is a Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Zanzan and Savanes Districts of north-eastern Ivory Coast.
The 41st World Heritage Committee Session (Krakow, 2xe2x80x9312 July 2017) has decided to take Comoe National Park off the List of World Heritage in Danger following improvements in the conservation of its fauna and habitat.

The area around the Comoxc3xa9 National Park was historically always sparsely populated.
[5] The area west of the Comoxc3xa9 river was added to the property on 9 February 1968 combined with an elevation to National Park status with an area of 11,500 square kilometres (4,400xc2xa0sqxc2xa0mi), making it one of the 15 largest National Parks in the World and the largest in West Africa.

The Comoxc3xa9 National Park Research Station, located in the Comoxc3xa9 National Park, Cxc3xb4te d'Ivoire, was founded by Professor Karl Eduard Linsenmair in 1989/90.
The Comoxc3xa9 National Park was listed as a World Heritage Site in Danger in 2003 mainly due to an increase in poaching caused by the lack of management after the outbreak of the first ivorian civil war.
After the end of the Second Ivorian Civil War and the stabilisation of the region the wildlife authority agency OIPR (Office Ivorien des Parcs et Reserves) has resumed their work in the Comoxc3xa9 National Park.

Comoxc3xa9 National Park, situated in the north-east of Cxc3xb4te dxe2x80x99Ivoire, with the surface of 1149450 ha, is one of the largest protected areas in West Africa.
Comoxc3xa9 National Park contains a remarkable variety of habitats, notably savannas, wooded savannas, gallery forests, fluvial forests and riparian grasslands providing an outstanding example of transitional habitats from forest to savanna.
Criterion (x): Due to the phytogeographical situation and the crossing of the River Comoxc3xa9 for over 230 kilometres, Comoxc3xa9 National Park teems with a vast variety of animal and plant species.
